William S. Ballenger papers, 1974, 1981-1982.

The William S. Ballenger Papers (#86-20) span 1974 and 1981-1982. The collection mostly documents Ballenger's 1982 campaign for the United States Senate, although a few items relate to Ballenger's 1974 campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives. Materials include campaign consultant reports; correspondence with supporters, donors and Republican Party members; public remarks by Ballenger, newspaper clippings, campaign ephemera and a video. The video contains recorded outtakes of Ballenger's 1982 campaign walk across Michigan, which he began in Sault Ste. Marie and finished in Detroit. This collection complements materials found in MS 82-127, which is an earlier collection of Ballenger's papers.
